Four other members of the family named in the case are yet to be arrested.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"2\"\/>Akriti, a Bhangel resident, had married Gaurav of Muradnagar around six months ago. Her family said the couple were initially due to marry on Feb 20, but the wedding was called off after Gaurav\u2019s family allegedly raised additional dowry demands. The two sides later reached a compromise at Muradnagar police station.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>The family alleged Akriti and Gaurav subsequently married without informing their relatives and began living together in Muradnagar. <!-- -->They said the demand for Rs 30 lakh and a car continued after the marriage.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"9\"\/><\/p>\n<div data-pos=\"0\" class=\"id-r-component iIpbx undefined  &#10;        \">\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"-\" msid=\"134176873\" imgsize=\"64765\" resizemode=\"4\" width=\"\" title=\"She feared for her life\" placeholdersrc=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/83033472.cms\" offsetvertical=\"0\" placeholdermsid=\"47529300\" type=\"thumb\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static.toiimg.com\/photo\/imgsize-64765,msid-134176873\/.jpg\" data-api-prerender=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p>She feared for her life<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>On the night of Sept 7, Akriti called her brother Prabhat and allegedly told him she was being assaulted and feared her in-laws might kill her. Soon after, Gaurav allegedly called Prabhat and said Akriti had fallen from the terrace.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>Akriti was taken to hospital, but died from her injuries on Sept 10. Her family alleged she had been deliberately thrown from the terrace over the dowry dispute.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>An FIR under relevant BNS sections and provisions of the Dowry Act was registered at Muradnagar police station against Gaurav, his father Ramesh, mother Saroj and sisters Soni and Neha, all residents of Main Road Colony.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>An ACP of Masuri circle said while Gaurav was arrested, teams were conducting raids to trace the other accused.
