When their daughter Zhuri James was born on October 22, 2014, the couple kept her early childhood largely private.<!-- --> It was a deliberate choice for their youngest child, who entered a family already surrounded by enormous attention because of LeBron\u2019s NBA career and her older brothers, Bronny James and Bryce James.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2> Why LeBron James and Savannah James kept Zhuri James away from public attention<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Savannah James explained the family\u2019s decision during Vanity Fair\u2019s September 13, 2022 profile of the James family. Looking back at the years when Zhuri was a baby, Savannah said, \u201cYou try to keep things as sacred as you can.\u201d She then gave a rare explanation of just how carefully she and LeBron handled their daughter\u2019s early exposure, saying, \u201cBack when she was born, we didn\u2019t show her. No one saw her until LeBron won his 2016 championship\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/>Savannah was not saying that Zhuri\u2019s birth had been kept secret. <!-- -->Her arrival was publicly reported in October 2014. What she meant was that the family chose not to put their baby daughter on display during those first years. That distinction is important because LeBron\u2019s life already attracted intense attention, and even ordinary family moments could quickly become public.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>The couple had two sons growing up alongside Zhuri, too. Bronny James and Bryce James were already connected to basketball because of their father, while LeBron remained one of the most recognizable athletes in the world. Zhuri, however, received a quieter introduction to that life. Savannah later summed up the family\u2019s approach during the same conversation by saying, \u201cEverything isn\u2019t for everybody.\u201d It was a simple way of explaining why the James family did not feel obligated to show the public every part of their home life.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2> LeBron James\u2019 2016 championship brought Zhuri James into the spotlight<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>On June 19, 2016, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. <!-- -->Cleveland completed a historic comeback from a 3-1 deficit and won the franchise\u2019s first NBA championship. During the celebration that followed, Zhuri became part of a huge public moment alongside her father.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>Savannah later pointed to that championship as the occasion when people finally saw Zhuri publicly. She was only 20 months old, and her appearance came during one of the happiest nights of LeBron\u2019s career rather than through a carefully planned celebrity introduction. <!-- -->That made the moment feel more like a family memory that happened to unfold in front of millions of viewers.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>As Zhuri grew older, the James family allowed her personality to come through naturally. By the time Vanity Fair profiled the family in September 2022, Zhuri had her own YouTube lifestyle show, All Things Zhuri, where she explored interests such as baking, yoga and painting. Savannah even called her the family\u2019s \u201cin-house creative director.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>Savannah also explained that none of her children had been pushed toward basketball simply because their father was LeBron James. During the same interview, she said, \u201cWith LeBron being their dad, it\u2019s just automatic. It\u2019s not something we\u2019ve pushed or told them that they had to do, or anything like that.
