<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nLUCKNOW: A 24-year-old woman, who was around seven months pregnant, was allegedly beaten to death with a wooden stick by her husband following a domestic dispute in Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Hardoi district.The woman\u2019s mother-in-law was also injured when she intervened to save her.The incident took place in Myora village under the Bilgram Kotwali area, around 30 km from the Hardoi district headquarters.According to family members, the deceased, identified as Kiran (24), had been married to Vishal (26) for around three years. She was approximately seven months pregnant and also had a one-year-old daughter.Police and family members said Vishal and Kiran had a quarrel at around 4 pm on Tuesday over an issue that is being investigated. The argument reportedly escalated, following which Vishal allegedly picked up a stick and began assaulting Kiran.When Vishal\u2019s mother, Prema, intervened and tried to stop the assault, she was also allegedly beaten and sustained injuries.Neighbours rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion and took the injured Kiran to a Community Health Centre (CHC). However, doctors examined her and declared her dead.Police reached the village after being informed about the incident and took Vishal into custody.The police conducted the necessary proceedings on the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. The woman\u2019s parental family was also informed about the incident.Police said the circumstances leading to the dispute, the sequence of events and other aspects of the case were being examined.Bilgram Kotwali inspector Vijay Kumar said police reached the spot immediately after receiving information and started an investigation. He said the husband had been traced and taken into custody, while further legal action would be taken on the basis of the complaint submitted by the family and the findings of the investigation.The police are also examining the circumstances surrounding the death, including the reason behind the altercation and the allegations made by the deceased woman\u2019s family.<\/div>\n The woman\u2019s mother-in-law was also injured when she intervened to save her.
