afternoon, officials said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"1\"\/>The incident was reported around 3.01pm at Ekta Welfare Society in Chikuwadi, Malvani, where a group of children were celebrating <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/dahi-handi\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dahi Handi<\/a> on their own.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>According to civic officials, the rope used for the celebration had been tied to a tree and a brick column supporting a ground-floor structure.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>While the children were attempting to break the handi, the column gave way and fell on the boy, identified as Rudra Kadam, 7, causing a serious head injury.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>The injured child was immediately rushed to Malvani General Hospital for treatment.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>However, hospital authorities later informed officials that Rudra was declared brought dead.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>Ward staff and police were mobilised after the incident.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>The incident occurred at Room No. 23, Ekta Welfare Society, Chikuwadi, Malvani, Marve Road, Malad
