Still, with the Cowboys suddenly sitting on significantly more cap flexibility, the old Crosby-to-Dallas chatter has once again found new life. This time, it might stay longer\u2026<\/p>\n No trade has been announced. No deal has been confirmed.But in the NFL gossip mill, fresh cap space plus a previously linked superstar is more than enough to get the conversation rolling again.The Dallas Cowboys reportedly now have approx. $33 million in salary-cap space following their latest round of restructurings.The team created more than $19 million in additional room by reworking the contracts of defensive tackle Kenny Clark, tight end Jake Ferguson and cornerback DaRon Bland.Clark\u2019s $11 million roster bonus had already been converted into a signing bonus in March 2026, while his $8.8 million base salary has now reportedly been restructured as well. Bland\u2019s $12 million base salary was converted into a signing bonus, while Ferguson\u2019s $7.25 million base salary was also reworked.Those moves do not necessarily mean the Cowboys are preparing to trade for Crosby. However, the timing is impossible to ignore.Dallas had already been connected to the Las Vegas Raiders star edge defender earlier in the 2026 offseason, and the Cowboys\u2019 sudden financial flexibility has undoubtedly reopened Pandora\u2019s box.For a team with the longest-sought Super Bowl ambitions and a Year 2 head coach [Brian Schottenheimer], adding one of the NFL\u2019s most destructive pass rushers would certainly qualify as a franchise-altering move. The Cowboys would also have to consider the long-term impact of adding another massive financial commitment to their roster.<\/p>\n The latest speculation did not emerge out of nowhere.Dallas had previously been mentioned among teams connected to Crosby during the Raiders star\u2019s uncertain trade situation earlier in the 2026 offseason. That previous connection is exactly why the Cowboys\u2019 latest cap moves have sparked another robust round of rumors.Crosby is not just another available pass rusher.He is one of the league\u2019s elite defensive stars and the type of player who could instantly change the complexion of a defense. For a team desperately chasing a Super Bowl, the grab-worthy opportunity to add that level of proven production would be impossible to ignore.Of course, there is a massive difference between being interested in a player and actually completing a trade.The Cowboys and Raiders would need to agree on compensation, while Dallas would also need to find a way to make Crosby\u2019s contract financially manageable.And Las Vegas would first have to decide that moving one of its biggest defensive stars is even worth considering.
