According to police, before taking the extreme step, the boy informed his sister.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>The student studies at a school in the Mariyappanapalya area.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>News agency PTI reported that he allegedly attempted suicide by hanging and was rushed to a hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>Citing a preliminary inquiry, a police officer said the boy had been reprimanded by his teacher over alleged mischief involving another student and was asked to step out of the classroom.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>Police said the inquiry so far suggests it was a minor classroom issue.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>However, a detailed inquiry is underway to ascertain whether the boy was harassed or subjected to any severe physical punishment at school and the circumstances that led him to take the extreme step.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>Police said no complaint has been lodged by the parents so far as they are still in trauma.
