They alleged that the government was &#8220;playing with the future&#8221; of lakhs of students.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/>Police detained the protesters who had assembled at the spot and released them later.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/>In a statement, the Youth Congress alleged that police used a lathi-charge to disperse its members during the protest. <!-- -->The organisation said the demonstration was aimed at demanding the resignation of Union Home minister Amit Shah.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee president H S Manjunath condemned the alleged police action and said peaceful protest was a constitutional right in a democracy.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>&#8220;The lathi-charge on Youth Congress workers who took to the streets for the future and justice of students is highly condemnable and cowardly. The lathi-charge was carried out to suppress the voice of the people and hide the truth,&#8221; Manjunath said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a
