They have been booked for kidnapping and murder following a complaint by Kaur\u2019s mother, Kanta Devi.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>According to the complaint, Shubhi and Pinda, who were acquaintances of Kaur, called her to Sector 34 in Chandigarh on the intervening night of July 3 and 4.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>They allegedly assaulted her, forced her into a vehicle and took her to a forested area near Morinda, where she was allegedly tied to a tree and set on fire.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>Another acquaintance who reached the spot later managed to put out the flames using a blanket, police said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>Kaur was initially taken to a hospital in Morinda before being shifted to Max Hospital in Mohali. She was later admitted to PGIMER, where she remained under treatment until her death.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>The case has also raised questions over an alleged delay in recording Kaur\u2019s statement.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>Sources said Kaur regained consciousness during her treatment and sought to have her statement recorded. The PGIMER police post reportedly informed Kharar Sadar police that she was conscious and in a condition to give a statement.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>The information was also conveyed to the investigating officer, but he allegedly did not reach the hospital, sources said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>A daily diary report (DDR) was reportedly recorded at the PGIMER police post regarding the communication.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>After Kaur died on August 26, the PGIMER police post again informed Kharar Sadar police. The investigating officer subsequently reached the hospital.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Kaur\u2019s mother was later taken to the Sector 34 police station, where her statement was recorded and an FIR was registered on Wednesday night.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding Kaur\u2019s alleged abduction and death, as well as the events leading up to the attack.<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a
