The makers are reportedly working on bringing the celebrated singer\u2019s life, music and legacy to the big screen with a grand vision. Casting has been one of the biggest talking points around the film, with several names linked to the lead role over the past few months.<\/p>\n As per a report in Gulte, Rashmika<\/a> Mandanna has reportedly been finalised to portray MS Subbulakshmi in the upcoming biopic. If the latest reports are accurate, the makers are planning to officially announce the project on September 16, which marks the birth anniversary of the legendary singer. These details are supposed to include the name of the movie along with the complete list of actors and the production team behind the film. The selection of Rashmika Mandanna for such an important role could turn out to be a major turning point for her career, as it provides her a chance to experiment with her acting.<\/p>\n There have been many changes before reaching Rashmika for this role. Sai Pallavi was earlier reported to be the first choice for the role, but she is said to have stepped away because of date clashes with her other commitments. Rukmini Vasanth<\/a> was later linked to the project, adding to the speculation surrounding the casting. The latest reports now suggest that the makers have settled on Rashmika as the actor who will bring MS Subbulakshmi to life. The role will require more than a physical resemblance, as Rashmika will have to capture the singer\u2019s grace, discipline, personality and commanding presence.<\/p>\n Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the biopic is being backed by an experienced production team comprising Rockline Venkatesh, Allu Aravind and Bunny Vas.
