I found out about it at the same time as the rest of the world,\u201d Thomas told The Daily Mail on Sunday.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>\u201cI\u2019m hurt and upset that she doesn\u2019t give a damn about me, even though I\u2019m in hospital,\u201d he added.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>&#8216;Meghan used to love me&#8217;<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Thomas is currently recovering at a rehabilitation centre in the US after having his left leg amputated below the knee. <!-- -->He underwent the amputation in December after developing a potentially fatal blood clot while living in the Philippines.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>Reflecting on his relationship with Meghan, Thomas said, \u201cMeghan used to love me, she was always a daddy\u2019s girl, and now it\u2019s like I don\u2019t exist.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>He said the couple\u2019s reported return to Britain has left him fearing that he may never get the opportunity to meet his grandchildren.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>\u201cI have never met my grandchildren, and now they are leaving America,\u201d he said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>\u201cOne day those kids will ask about their \u2018other\u2019 grandfather \u2013 the one who isn\u2019t King \u2013 the one that Meghan and Harry are apparently ashamed of.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>\u201cI hope they know how much I wanted to meet them,\u201d he added.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Thomas Markle says hope of meeting grandchildren is fading<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Thomas said he had hoped Meghan and Harry might visit him while they were living in the US.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/>\u201cWhile they were in the US, I always hoped they might come and see me. The move would mark their return to the country they left after stepping back from their roles as senior working members of the royal family.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"54\"\/>King Charles III was reportedly informed about the decision on Sunday, according to The New York Times.
