The actress, who was officially inducted into the folk horror franchise this July, was seen with the team on the sets, adding excitement to the highly anticipated sequel.Rocking a laid-back avatar, in an oversized striped shirt and wearing her hair back in a high pony, the actress posed for photos with the team. As per the viral photos, Alia headed to the sets for the ongoing schedule that reportedly included sequences set around a river and an old fort.<\/p>\n The shoot comes shortly after the makers officially confirmed Bhatt\u2019s addition to the cast. Shah welcomed the actor to the franchise on social media, writing, \u201cThe world of Tumbbad expands, a new chapter takes shape. e are delighted to welcome @aliaabhatt to the cast of #Tumbbad2.\u201dBhatt\u2019s casting marks her first full-fledged venture into the horror genre. She will share the screen with Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui<\/a>, who has also been confirmed as a key member of the sequel\u2019s cast. The makers have kept details about both the film’s characters under wraps, although Siddiqui\u2019s role is expected to be central to the story. Meanwhile, Alia’s involvement is expected to introduce a new dimension to the story while expanding the mythology established in the first film.<\/p>\n Directed by Adesh Prasad<\/a> and spearheaded by actor-producer Sohum Shah, ‘Tumbbad 2’ is set to expand the mythology. The sequel is expected to retain the themes of greed, fear and human nature that were central to the original while taking the story forward.According to the production team, an extensive set spanning around 7\u20138 acres was constructed in Mumbai for the initial shoot, designed to resemble an entire city.<\/p>\n The makers have announced December 3, 2027 as the theatrical release date for the sequel.
