(AP Photo\/Jacquelyn Martin)<\/span><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (local time) announced an \u201cEconomic D-Day\u201d against Iran, warning of what he called the most severe economic operation ever imposed on a country.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"2\"\/>\u201cNo one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a greater opportunity to make a Deal than me. TRAGICALLY, for them, they have failed to take it,\u201d Trump said in a post on Truth Social. He warned that Iran would now face \u201ceconomic warfare and isolation on an unprecedented scale.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>Trump also warned countries against providing Iran with \u201cany type of lifeline,\u201d threatening them with \u201ctremendous economic consequences.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>\u201cOil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies \u2014 It all needs to stop NOW.
