According to Canal Street Chronicles, Rechsteiner became involved in a scuffle before the receiver took Thompson down with the wrestling-style move.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>TalkSPORT also reported that the practice saw several fights as players from both teams struggled to keep their tempers under control.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>The moment stood out because of Rechsteiner\u2019s family connection to professional wrestling. His father, Scott Steiner, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 as part of the Steiner Brothers, while his cousin Bron Breakker currently wrestles in WWE.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>The New Orleans Saints list both family connections in Rechsteiner\u2019s official player biography. Rechsteiner joined the Saints as an undrafted free agent after impressing during the team\u2019s rookie minicamp tryout.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>The New Orleans Saints confirmed his signing on May 12, noting that the 6-foot-2, 225-pound receiver played four seasons at Jacksonville State and finished his college career with 53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Brock Rechsteiner\u2019s NFL path after Jacksonville State<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>The rookie is trying to earn his place with New Orleans while dealing with a major setback before the regular season.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>On August 6, the New Orleans Saints announced that the NFL had suspended Rechsteiner for the first six games of the 2026 season for violating the NFL-NFLPA performance-enhancing substances policy.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>He is still allowed to take part in preseason practices and games. That suspension does not stop him from competing during the preseason, which gives Rechsteiner a chance to show the Saints what he can do before the regular season begins.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>The team\u2019s official profile also notes that he worked as a reserve receiver and special teams contributor at Jacksonville State, giving him experience beyond catching passes.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Football is Rechsteiner\u2019s main focus for now, but he has also spoken about following his family into professional wrestling after his football career.
