Like <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/stefon-diggs\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stefon Diggs<\/a>. He played in 2024 for the Houston Texans, when the New England Patriots went 3-14. But what will happen to Cam Skattebo?<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Cam Skattebo\u2019s injury makes New York Giants turn to NFL free agent Najee Harris<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>In October 2025, New York Giants running back and QB Jaxson Dart\u2019s best friend Cam Skattebo suffered a gruesome, season-ending right ankle injury. <!-- -->The injury included an open tibia fracture and right ankle dislocation.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>According to DraftSharks, he carries a \u201cvery high\u201d injury risk in the 2026 season. The injury chance is 72 percent, and his chance of injury per game is 7.2 percent. He is projected to miss 0.90 games.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/>His durability score is 0.77, with the maximum being 5. So, this just looks scary. But he feels very confident, despite recording just four carries for 19 yards in the 2026 preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>\u201cWhen I went out there Saturday, I had no feeling or any recollection of the injury in my brain,\u201d Skattebo said. \u201cI was ready to go play football, and adrenaline gets going, so everything kind of goes away, and you\u2019re just ready to touch the ball and go play.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>\u201cI think coach [John Harbaugh] loves that I run right over the top of people. Physicality is the No. 1 thing, and it gets the [offensive] line going even more.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"33\"\/>So obviously, as I came back from injury, I\u2019m learning how to take fewer hits and try to maneuver better around people instead of through them, and realizing that I could have gotten four more yards if I would have just taken a step to the left.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"36\"\/>I think those are the things that I\u2019m just going to continue to add to my game and add to my bag of tools that I can pull from to make sure that I stay healthy and I stay successful.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"38\"\/>Cam Skattebo is in his second season. He is still learning how to run past defenders. The John Harbaugh-led New York Giants may not have so much patience. They need someone who can take them to the Big Games. Someone who can turn their last season\u2019s 4-13 record around.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"41\"\/>For that matter, they even made space. They waived running back Dante Miller and hosted free-agent veteran running back Najee Harris.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"43\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Najee Harris could become the Giants\u2019 Stefon Diggs<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Harris is also coming off a torn Achilles. But he could become Stefon Diggs for New York Giants.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"46\"\/>\u201cI felt like the hair on the back of my neck stood up when I saw him over there, you know? He\u2019s a big dude,\u201d Harbaugh told reporters. \u201cSo yes, he\u2019s coming back from the Achilles injury he had with my brother [Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh]. <!-- -->And he looked good in the workout.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"50\"\/>You know, he\u2019s not back 100 percent. He\u2019s not in football shape yet. So, if we are able to do something, it\u2019ll be a process. But that\u2019ll be a guy who has a lot of experience. He\u2019s a decorated vet. With those guys, generally, you just have to kind of see where they\u2019re at when you get them.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"53\"\/>Sometimes it works out great, sometimes it\u2019s just ok, and other times it doesn\u2019t work out. Based on the workout, I would say we feel like he\u2019s got a shot. <!-- -->We just have to see how it goes.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"57\"\/>The 28-year-old running back has recorded 1,000+ yards in four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"59\"\/>He reportedly did not sign an extension with the Steelers, on fatherly advice received from then-Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin. So, he played for the Chargers in 2025.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"61\"\/>But unfortunately, he could only record 15 carries for 61 yards before ending the season with a torn Achilles. Now, he\u2019s recovering. And scouting for another NFL team.
