Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed their third child two weeks ago in Portugal, and the couple have now announced that their baby girl is named Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"2\"\/>Sharing the news on Instagram, Eugenie, who is 12th in line to the British throne, explained that the name was chosen to honour three people the couple love and admire, including the late Queen Elizabeth II.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>\u201cNamed after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts,\u201d Eugenie wrote.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>She added that their daughter\u2019s name also has a special connection to both countries close to their family.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>\u201cHer name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home,\u201d she said.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Princess Eugenie says family is enjoying \u2018special\u2019 time with newborn<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Eugenie also gave fans a glimpse into life with the newest member of the family, saying she and Brooksbank have enjoyed a particularly intimate period since welcoming their daughter.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>\u201cWe\u2019ve had the most special, cosy and love-filled time,\u201d she wrote.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>Adelaide is the couple\u2019s first daughter. She joins their two sons, August and Ernest, with Eugenie revealing that the family took some time before settling on a name.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>\u201cAugie and Ernie are already the best big brothers,\u201d she added.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Adelaide Elizabeth Annina joins the royal family<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>The arrival of Adelaide marks another milestone for the British royal family. She will not hold an HRH title and will be 15th in line to the throne, with her great-uncle, the Duke of Edinburgh, moving to 16th.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>She is also the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the third to be born since the monarch\u2019s death in 2022.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"29\"\/>Adelaide is the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, following the birth of Princess Beatrice\u2019s daughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, in January last year.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"32\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed daughter in Portugal<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>The birth was notable as a rare occasion in which a member of the British royal family was born overseas. Eugenie and Brooksbank have a home and other connections in Portugal, where they welcomed their daughter.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"35\"\/>The couple first met in 2010 after being introduced through mutual friends and married in 2018.
