The film marked his last big-screen appearance as he focuses on his political career and takes responsibilities as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.<!-- --> Now, following its theatrical release, the film\u2019s digital streaming platform has officially revealed its OTT premiere date.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"5\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>\u2018Jana Nayagan\u2019 gets OTT release date<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Vijay\u2019s \u2018Jana Nayagan\u2019 will officially begin streaming on Zee5. The OTT platform took to its social media to reveal that the film will premiere on its platform on August 21.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>Sharing a 3D animated video of an actor Vijay Thalapathy driving a gypsy vehicle and comes out of it with a swagger to put a downward hand-slashing gesture as the CM.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>Along with the video the makers wrote, \u201cThangamey! Thalapathy #Jananayagan is all set to meet you all on 21st August only on Zee 5\u201d.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>The film is expected to be available in multiple Indian languages as well. This will allow Vijay fans who could not watch the film in theatres to finally watch his farewell movie from home.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>About \u2018Jana Nayagan\u2019<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Directed by H Vinoth, the film is a political action drama which shows Vijay\u2019s character by the name Thalapathy Vetri Kondan, a former official who adopts a young girl named Viji. He wants him to become less afraid and brave, encouraging her to join forces.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>The film did not receive the expected response for its content. Although, it received mixed reactions and faced criticism from many viewers. Vijay\u2019s strong fan following helped the film maintain a good run at the box office despite the fact the film saw multiple hurdles to get a theatrical release.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>Initially, the film got delayed as it didn\u2019t receive censor certificate from CBFC and later its HD copy got leaked before its release.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"30\"\/><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"32\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>\u2018Jana Nayagan\u2019 box office run<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>The total India net collections stands at Rs 196.97 crore and overseas collections at Rs 93.20 crore according to trade analyst Sacnilk.
