Strange ideas get into people\u2019s heads. He thinks this is foreign policy,\u201d before giving a big hug to Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>Dikshit then quipped, \u201cYou weren\u2019t hugging me thinking I was Meloni?\u201d Rahul replied, \u201cI haven\u2019t reached that stage yet,\u201d drawing laughter from the gathering.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/>Rahul then returned to his criticism, saying, \u201cI don\u2019t know where he got this idea that foreign policy means hugging leaders.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"12\"\/>He also questioned India-US relations, pointing to Pakistan\u2019s role in mediating during the Iran war and raising questions over India\u2019s diplomatic positioning amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>&#8220;War broke out in Iran. For India\u2014had it recognized its own strength and had its leader been someone like Indira Gandhi\u2014this presented the greatest opportunity in the world. What kind of opportunity? Iran was our old friend, America was our friend, and Russia was our friend. We could have stepped up, become relevant, and leveraged these friendships. But what actually happened? Nothing of the sort.
