Both children were in attendance at Queen\u2019s Club as she returned to professional tennis after a lengthy absence.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"14\"\/>Following the match, Williams revealed that her comeback victory did not exactly become the main topic of conversation at home.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/>\u201cAdira (two) wanted to go to the toy store, and Olympia (eight) wanted to know what was for dinner\u2026\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>While fans focused on the significance of her return, her children were focused on being kids.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"21\"\/>Williams later joked about the decision to return to competition in the first place.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"23\"\/>\u201cI had nothing better to do.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"25\"\/>\u201cI got tired of sitting at home. My kids are out of school for the summer, so why not?\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"27\"\/>The performance itself offered plenty of encouraging signs. <!-- -->Although Williams admitted she would give herself a &#8220;C-minus&#8221; grade, her serve remained a major weapon. She regularly exceeded 100 mph and touched 120 mph during the contest. There were flashes of the vintage Serena that dominated tennis for decades, particularly during key moments of the opening set tiebreak.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/>Mboko also played a significant role in the victory, and Williams was quick to acknowledge her young partner&#8217;s contribution.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"34\"\/>\u201cIt was so fun! I had so much fun playing with Vicky,\u201d Williams said. \u201cShe really was able to hold up the team and really play big on the big points, I could really rely on her.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"36\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Serena Williams reacts to British tennis fans following first win in 1,376 days<br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"38\"\/>Queen\u2019s Club had not hosted women&#8217;s professional tennis for more than five decades before welcoming WTA competition back last year. For Williams, finally competing at the iconic venue felt special.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"40\"\/>\u201cI never got to play here, it was always just the men,\u201d Williams remarked during her on-court interview.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"43\"\/>A cheer from the crowd followed, prompting an immediate response from the American.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"45\"\/>\u201cNo yay!\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"47\"\/>The crowd laughed, and Williams quickly added context.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"49\"\/>\u201cBut it feels really special to play at a place so iconic that I saw so many of my friends win and do well in and just watch so many great matches, so it&#8217;s kind of cool.\u201d<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"51\"\/>Whether this comeback extends to Wimbledon remains uncertain.
